How to get gear

If you have read my Beginner Basic guide, you might already know that the lamp is the core mechanic of the game (if you have not, go read The genie in the lamp is your ultimate best friend. He/She will provide you with gears, experience and gold.

The Genie will randomly provide you with one piece of gear of lower or higher quality than you already have.

Every time you tap the lamp, there are 3 possible outcomes:

  1. You equip gear in an empty slot,

  2. You replace a piece of gear with something better and sell your old gear,

  3. You got bad luck and sell what the genie gave you for experience and gold.

Though draws are random, the genie is fair: selling gear will give you experience and gold. It is in fact the only way to get experience for your character.

Gear quality and lamp upgrade

The crucial part to understand is that the gear quality is capped with the level of your lamp! You could spend all your lamps and literally get only crap because you forgot to upgrade your lamp. Though you might get higher level gear, failing to reach the next quality tier will get you nowhere! There are literally thousands of points in stat difference from one tier to the next.

Gear can be one of ten possible quality tiers, from the lowest to the best:

  1. Normal (#grey)

  2. Unique (#green)

  3. Well #(blue)

  4. Rare (#purple)

  5. Mythic (#sand)

  6. Epic (#orange)

  7. Legendary (#red)

  8. Immortal (#pink)

  9. Supreme (#gradient)

  10. Aurous (#gold)

However, if you do understand the importance of the lamp, you might have noticed that upgrading your lamp will gradually increase your change at higher tier gear and lower the probability of getting crappy lower tier gear.

I am still missing some levels, but I have tried to compile the benefits and cost of each upgrade below:

As you can see in the tables here-above, your first objective will be to push your lamp to lvl. 7 to unlock Epic gear, then lvl. 9 to get Legendary. After that, slowly make your way up to Immortal gear.

Auto-Use

Once you reach level 16, you will unlock the Auto-Use button. Auto-Use will automatically tap the lamp for you. The best part is that you can set filters on what you want to sell and what you might want to look at.

I recommend to set the filter to your current lowest tier and up, unless you have 2 pieces or less of that lowest tier, then you should be free to move up. For instance, if most of your current lowest tier is Rare and you have upgrade your lamp to lvl. 7, you should look for gear Rare and up. You might still get better Rare gear that will help you push a bit, and you might get lucky and get yourself some Mythic or even Epic gear (still don’t get why Epic is considered higher tier than Mythic).

On the other hand, if you only have two pieces of rare gear left, you should be safe trying to aim higher. Search for Mythic gear and up instead. Again, the higher the lamp, the higher the chances. Always try to maximize the level of your lamp before you attempt to get better gear.

Last, I would strongly advise NOT TO FILTER for specific skills until you get a full Immortal set. If you search with a filter, the genie might sell higher tier gear that would have been useful. Wait until you hit your very first brick wall: upgrading to Supreme.

To fully understand the Auto-Use, I have dedicated a post that you can find here.

Gold farming

We have seen how to get gear and higher tier gear, but how do we get the gold to level up that lamp?

Spend some gems

Below level 9, I strongly recommend to invest 2*6k gems in 2*200k gold packs in the store. Though everyone will recommend to keep gems for your mount, investing those few gems in gold will help you pierce through lvl. 9 and unlock your first Legendary gear, or at least get a chance to do so. Legendary gear will last you for a while and will help you push through those harder campaign levels. Additionally, it takes quite some time to unlock Immortal gear and it will get significantly harder to get Supreme gear. So focus on getting yourself a full set of Legendary gear first.

Kill enemies

Another good way to get gold is to kill monsters, but not just any monster. Once you hit your next campaign wall, you will be force to go back in time. Though those monsters won’t reward lamps, they will exclusively reward gold. Going back in time is a good way to farm gold, so don’t be too impatient and take your time before you attempt that boss again.

Sell gear

As I mentioned in my Beginner Basic guide, selling worse gear is not only the only way to get experience, but also a good source of gold. Burning lamps to go up levels and get gold is not the worst idea though it may seem counterproductive. Again, this game is about balance between when to use your lamps and when to save them for later.

Make friends

Making friends and adding friends will reward you 2k gold per friend each day (and the same for them). If someone sends you a request, do not hesitate! You can also find me on Server EUEN-14 and add me with my code “3I59EEWYBY” for gold and some extra goodies.

That’s all for today! I will come back regularly to upgrade this post with data. Don’t hesitate to drop me a message if you have it.
